In searching the internet, I stumbled across this:
https://www.csp-shop.com/en/wheels-brakes/c...30a-15859a.html This is a kit to convert a Super Beetle to big vented rotor brakes using Boxster calipers. Why can't we use it for a 914 owner that wants to keep the 4 lug wheels? The 914 uses the same wheel bearings and seals as the Super Beetle, so it should be a bolt on kit. Imagine a narrow body 914 with 4 lug Fuchs and a six. Or a Subie motor. Or a V-8. What do y'all think??? |

It's been years, someone made 4 lug hubs that used 911 rotors. Can't remember who.

Those are Boxster rear calipers. Tiny pistons. Haven't done the math. They make great stuff though.

I 've seen these kits before, I like 'em. However, unless the rotors can be purchased separately (and will be available for years to come), basic wear and tear rotor replacement could eventually be an issue. And IF they are available separately (I didn't see them listed), then couldn't we (US forum members) put together the rest of the kit a whole lot more reasonably?
..Or, CSP could also just supply Cip1 with these particular 4/130 kits. They already carry CSP products and I've wondered in the past why in the world they wouldn't, since there are plenty old bug groups in the US.. well, 914 people too. That still wouldn't solve the issue of rotor replacement tho. |

I was searching CSP. : https://www.csp-shop.com/en/wheels-brakes/b...MjMwNy4wLjAuMA.. There's also the 5/130 available, same price, so no need to have 'em drilled: https://www.csp-shop.com/en/wheels-brakes/b...MjMwNy4wLjAuMA.. |

...Cip1 with these particular 4/130 kits. They already carry CSP products and I've wondered in the past why in the world they wouldn't, since there are plenty old bug groups in the US.. well, 914 people too... Unstable exchange rate, heavy product for International freight and low margins coming from one reseller (CSP) to another. Best to get the Sebro number, go directly to them and have a larger shipment delivered stateside. We did that with our blank cores last year. I have over 250 Boxster rear calipers... I'll see if we can get a shipment. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif) https://pmbperformance.com/products/disc-br...for-porsche-914 https://pmbperformance.com/products/5x130-d...for-porsche-914 |

Maybe there's just so much more vintage VW culture in Europe - anyone know? PS - Nevermind, Googles says they mfg. in Germany. |
