Hi Does anyone know how many volts and amps the AAR valve is supposed to receive thru the red wire ? Did all cars that use the AAR valve have the same input ? Is there any Porsche spec table on this that covers different year cars ? THANK YOU so much for any reply.

The electric system in a 914 is notionally a 12-volt one. It can get up into the mid-14s, but generally not higher unless something is messed up. (Even then, it's very rare to see more than 16V in most of the system.)
The resistance wire in the bottom of the AAR measures about 13 ohms. I measured from the plug to the housing of the AAR, and that's what I got. This means that the current should peak at a bit over 1 Amp. I don't know if the 1.8 AARs that have a conical shape measure the same; I suspect they are at least close. I'm pretty sure the 1.7 versions are very close to the above. --DD |
