Just dropped my video on what might be the wildest 914 ever built. I had it for an afternoon and loved it!

380bhp. Carbon panels. 1 ton. And not built by Porsche.

Curious what the 914 community thinks. Link below…

Hi Jay, (IMG:style_emoticons/default/welcome.png)
Let's see how our 'Nine one Four' brain-trust votes in on the Fifteen Eleven (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
I dig your YouTube presentation + the car is well sorted...just a Tip; while taking the 914 for a spin with the targa top off>>secure your script in a sturdy clipboard (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif)

In what universe does this car relate to an entry level Porsche?

pretty much duplicates piech's mad 8.
his had 350 hp.

and i guess in todays money if porsche would have built and sold you one probably about the same retail $?

and i bet if piech was still alive he would approve of this one?

i give it full marks for that. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)
but given my life prison sentence of a beer budget i'm just gonna have to be content with my 1.8 and its shattering peformance pulling the skins of bananas (just (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) )

at least this one and mine do one thing the same. go around corners. fast. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

if i was a man with money to squander id have one. in rhd.

Fugly front end. Looks like a bad body kit from the 80’s. Crazy money for a terrible looking 914. There are dozens of World member cars that I’d rather have over this one.

I would say drop the power train into one of our original 914's and you would have an absolutely awesome car.

you would not get the same result chassis/suspension wise.
they have ditched 914 suspension entirely.
mounting points - everything. all gone.
thats half of what they have done besides the power train.

as to the fugly front end. you got to do something.
even my banana skin pulling 1.8 can lift its front end at 95 mph and not in a nice way. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

---

at first i did not like this pommy resto-mod.
but the more i look the more i see that would be rather interesting.
(but of course you got to have the $ to ignite to be interested. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) )

the first car they did was right hand drive.
which i thought was interesting and probably added more cost to one that was left hand drive. but now i can see they modify the firewall the same whether right hand drive or left hand drive. to accomodate the cayman steering rack and set up. its not a centre rack like vintage 914/911.

they end up producing what a genuine factory 914 rhd might have been.
ie a mirror fire wall and mirror fuel tank reproducing the beautiful weight distribution that a lhd 914 has. drive on one side. fuel and battery on the other side.

its the one flaw of every rhd converted 914, mine included. all weight stacks up one side of the car. the cars were never originally converted this way as it was just so much more cost to even contemplate the amount of work involved.

i'd say their left hand drive and right hand drive versions are identical and mirrors of each other and involve the same amount of work in the firewall - fuel tank area.

i wouldn't mind driving one of these. i reckon it would be pretty good. very stiff. they have done a lot of work - nicely done with extra long members and centre tunnel reinforcing. it would not drive like a 914. nor would it drive like a boxster. i tend to think it would be better than both?

it took me a while to find the images of the firewall area and front trunk.
but you can see whats going on. this is the original rhd demo car they made.

i am coming around to it.
i think they will get a few takers for this in the uk and europe.

but......it ends up way too expensive by the time you got one down here.
you would be looking at 1 M + aud.

,
(IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) cartoon size wheels ,awful rear wheel arches, interior is a messy mix of new and old ..., the exterior is a real mixture of conflicting ideas of design and that issue is why the front is SO ugly ??? .
And the price well enough said there .

Can't fault the impressive build details, but agree with others that the styling isn't cohesive. Front fascia and lighting look forced. There are a few design update studies that could provide direction,
even a couple of the "Nine Hundred and Fourteen" AI attempts on YouTube aren't bad. Singer sculpts the quintessential 911 shape... there's no reason a modern 914 needs to be boxy.

Now that’s funny!

Truth be told, the best cars to be seen are in the basement which coincidentally is where you’ll find the local rockabilly bands and car clubs. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif)
