Hey teeners, I need a little help please; does anyone make the adapter harness for a '71 914-6 chassis harness to adapt to a 3.2 engine harness? PMS makes the 914-4 to 3.6 and the 914-6 to a 3.6. I know it's been done before but my search didn't turn anything up. If anyone knows which wires on the 3.2 harness that need to be moved to which position? TIA (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

Pm Perry @ ironhillsrestorations
He makes engine wire harnesses and maybe able to help you out. Are you running carbs or efi? That makes a big difference in what wires you need. |

Patrick makes a 3.2 conversion harness for stock induction but you will want a custom harness if you are using carbs and aftermarket electronic ignition.

Patrick makes a 3.2 conversion harness for stock induction but you will want a custom harness if you are using carbs and aftermarket electronic ignition. If you’re looking for the pinouts, do a search. Lots of diagrams. I dumped the relay board when I installed my 2.7 with Weber’s back in 1986 and then moved the pins around for the 3.2 I installed in 2000. You can buy the 14 pin connectors. I recently installed a 3.6 and used the PMS harness. Much more complicated. Than the smaller motors. http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?sho...13517&st=20 https://share.google/images/mTOHfHSJtx5pOxZSD The diagram is for a 75. I would compare it to the wiring diagram for a 71 in the Haynes manual. The diagram is still a good example what the pins are used for. |
