Are the clearances for intake and exhaust valves the same for 1.7, 1.8 and 2.0 engines?
My engine has been modified with a kit to 1.97-big piston kit, would that influence recommended valve clearances?

If I remember correctly the 1.8 is different and the kit won't affect the valve adjustment. Things that would are different valves and the addition of hydraulic lifters.

If you know what the heads are from that will likely tell you the required clearance.

If you are running chromoly pushrods versus aluminum pushrods after the kit install, then there will be changes to the valve lash/clearances.
