I was working on the ole 914 this weekend, getting ready for the front sway bar install, and found the boots on my steering rack were smoked. I went to order new boots and the standard boots on the websites didn't look like what was on my car.

I think the car already has Turbo Tie Rods on it. I wanted to put this out to you guys to see what you guys think. Are these Turbo Tie Rods?

Excellent! I thought so. Does anyone know if I can replace the boots without having to have the car realigned? I feel like I can pop the tie rod off and unscrew the whole arm from the rack without adjusting the length. Am I dreaming?

Get Porsche brand boots. The URO ones are trash.

Sierra Madre has them, roughly 34.00 each. The 'OEM Quality' ones are 17.00 each. I sprung for the Porsche ones at the advice of @mepstin.

The lesser quality ones tear quickly.
