I looked under the dash and do not see where the flasher mounts .Do I need to remove a gauge to access where this installs ?

Nope, super easy, just remove the big screws from the fuse panel, the flashers are on the back.

Also, go ahead and try the one that is in there first if you haven't. My original flasher worked fine after I switched out all my lights to led.

Thanks for your responses . I was told I would need the new Flasher for my 1976 but I will see if all works before I install it . I think it has something to do with my indicators in the tach ( I only have one light for both turn signals ).

Just did a quick test and the front and rear turn signals all blink but the indicator on the tach does not . I believe this is why the new flasher is needed .

Just did a quick test and the front and rear turn signals all blink but the indicator on the tach does not . I believe this is why the new flasher is needed .

Bummer that did not go well . Installed the new flasher heard a click noise when I activated the left turn signal and now no turn signals flash anymore . Took out the new flasher and put back the old one and my turn signals no longer come on when car is running . With the key off I can activate either left or right turn signals and the front turn signals light up and the rear turn signals come on (plus the brake lights ?)but no longer flash ? They blinked before I messed with the flasher relay but just did not have any indication at my tach indicator.
Rear brake light should not be coming on when the turn signals are activated . I have the modules that make both the turn and brake lights come on together but have not installed them yet. Also I have not touched any of the rear light connections . Wondering what went wrong I only installed the new flasher ,all lights worked as should after initial install ?

new results - the tail lights, turn signals and brake lights are now working with the old flasher installed . Now I need to sometimes turn off and on again the left turn signal to get it to work ( wasn't having any issues before ) .Maybe this is just a bad connection at the turn signal switch itself , still not sure why the new flasher did not work but hesitant to reinstall it for more testing .
I know a safety feature of these cars is that when you park it you can select either the right or left turn signal on and the front and rear lamps light up but now I notice the brake lamps also light up , I can't remember if it was this way before I swapped out old lamps for the led bulbs ? I think I will quit for the day and come back to this tomorrow .

When I did this I noticed any kind of poor connection at any of the bulbs resulted in weirdness. I would go through and make sure your relay contacts are good in the fuse panel, and the same for any new LEDs you added. I found some of my sockets were pretty sketchy with corrosion. I didn't go crazy cleaning them, but I did spray some contact cleaner and scrape a little.

I am going to get a can of contact cleaner and try to carefully clean up some connections .

Ron, you are correct on the indicator not flashing with LEDs and the OEM flasher relay. This is a safety feature designed to let the driver know that an external turnsignal bulb is burned out. ie., the indicator does not light up.

LEDs look like a burned bulb drawing very little current. EP26 is configured to drive the indicator any time flashing occurs.

EP26 is LED-compatible and is OK with standard bulbs. Not sure why you had an issue with EP26. It should still be ok. I can send another replacement if you think this one is damaged. Weird because EP26 is pin-compatible with the OEM flasher and should behave the same.

As far as cleaning sockets, contact cleaner is ok to use but doesn't do much to remove oxidation. To remove oxidation I suggest using a tiny screwdriver to scrape the power buttons in the sockets. Just be careful to not press hard on the power buttons.
