Hello,
The replacement heater cables sold by many of the vendors include a red sleeve slid over the cable wire (see photo below). The cable I purchased has this sleeve on the longer right side of the cable. What is the purpose of this sleeve? Is it meant to be inserted at the end of the cable guide tube at the firewall to reduce friction? If so, what keeps it in place, and why doesn't the left side have one? ![]() |

Never seen that. Original cables were plastic coated. Porsche replacements are bare wire and they say grease them. I make my own from piano wire. I make them about 2 inches longer for easier installation
