Greetings,
I’m about midpoint in my own converted six-cylinder restoration. The tub is in the hands of a very capable body shop for previous collision and rust repair. The car is also getting steel GT fenders. I’d like to source new fibeglass GT rockers and front valence. I’m looking for input from those who have purchased from current suppliers. If you can shred some light on the purchasing experience, and product quality, I would appreciate it. I’m looking for hand laid parts – not chopper gun pieces. I’d also like to know how much work you put toward improving the fit. I’m using steel fenders from restoration design. Thanks in advance for any input you can provide! |

Unfortunately, virtually no fiberglass pieces fit well without modification. General comments about fit range from "OK" to "Are you kidding me?!?!" but I have yet to hear anyone rave.
The rare exceptions I have experience with are the Getty GT style hood and trunk lid (the balsa supported versions). They needed very minor massaging - at least that was the case with the two sets I fit. |
