Based on the rods being 2liter, this could be 71mm or more if stroked.
Doesn’t look like it’s stroked though as there should be additional material welded on either side of the crank to laterally support the rods.
Clearly welded counterweights.

But to your question; DPR were making them that way (welded) but something tells me they would brand their cranks. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)

Thanks all. I will check the journals tonight, if I remember correctly with out cleaning they were around 50mm. This is out of a big bore 103mm type 4 (GA) engine. I think the crank has a VW symbol on it but it is hard to tell. Definitely has welded counter weights.
