yep - thats what it does at a populist level.

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/stromberg.gif) in --- mega (IMG:style_emoticons/default/stromberg.gif) out.

but the other side of it is,,,well off the internet babble landscape ----> accurate data in answers out (reliable answers). i am afraid it is well and truly over for the middle class (professional/clerical class). whether this is a creative cycle or simply harvesting towards a dead end i cannot say. because can AI be creative. you would want to hope not.

if you have a trade, an analogue skill you are still in the game.
but here we go, the middle class who have grown and blossomed for 400 years are facing some kind of .........end point?

mind you the analogue people need the middle class people to create the dollars that go around.

where is this going to end. dunno. but i think its a big shift and its not going to be without a lot of pain?

My son used to be an analyst at a private equity firm. Now he is getting paid to teach AI to do what he used to do.

AI Overview

I don't have cable or any streaming services so I only watch what is on YouTube. There are tons of AI videos on it. I watch a lot of WW2 documentaries and a lot of them are AI. They may have 10 photographs, no videos and a voice talking about the topic. I can't watch them.

One 'video' was about the race to cross the Rhine between Patton and Monty. It showed pictures of US and British generals but neither were Patton or Monty; just stock pictures of US and British generals.

Watched a video of '20 facts of Trading Places movie' with Eddie Murphy and Dan Aykroyd. But instead of pronouncing Dan's last name with a soft A the voice kept pronouncing his name with a hard A. AI giveaway. Turned it off.

Yes. But he's a smart kid so he doesn't see it as a negative. He sees it as an opportunity to be the person teaching AI instead of the person getting replaced by AI.

Funny, I've recently been watching a bunch of WW2 YouTube. I basically listen when I drive. Some of the voices are really good until they hit a combination of letters and numbers that just aren't spoken like they are written. Sometimes it turns into a weird mumble.

I have long been interested in WW II naval warfare, and YTube AI hasn't been able to properly pronounce the "bow" of a ship!
