I didn't think this was the case, but when I pull and activate the headlight switch to the very first position, parking/running lights (headlights OFF and DOWN) - my brake lights are illuminating along with the little corner lights. Is that correct ?

Is that correct ? You may have wired the tail lights wires to the brake light terminals on the tail lights. |

You may have wired the tail lights wires to the brake light terminals on the tail lights. I’m a little confused by that statement… i did however double check the placement of wires where they plug in, under each housing (probably what you were talking about). In the following picture you can see an all black wire that’s going over to the outer most bulb fixture (small bulb parking light).. if you look closely from from it’s originating, you will see a GY/BK wire from the same spot that travels to one of the terminals at the brake light bulb fixture. So if that’s where the parking light is getting power the it stands to reason that the brake light is too. So I guess the answer is ‘yes’ the brake light comes on with the first pull of the light switch, the parking lights. Attached thumbnail(s) |
