It was beautiful out of the box. Put it on the engine stand to install my CFR headers. Those billet stroker push rod tubes are awesome if you're running stock HEs. I was going to put my CFR headers on and the stub tubes for 2 & 4 didn't fit. They are wider than stock. and interfere with the stub tubes. I have a set of AL pushrod tubes from EMS. I put them on and can run with my headers.
There was no way I was going to run HE's and a Triad when the heads were in the box. |

Pictures this evening. Chris called me back and we talked about order of operations to get the header assembled. As soon as its on ill post a pic. I didn't get the motor to the shop till 1-2, uncrated, inventory and put on the stand. Then found the pushrod tube problem and fixed that. I'm old that was enough.
I bought this motor 2258 motor in a box. It went to Jorge and was machined balanced. Heads are 42x38 ported. It's set up for 8.7:1. Time to go back to work before I run out of juice. . |

Here is what it looks like from last night. Pardon the mess. I was staging my 914 inventory to go to remote storage.
My to do for today: Smoke test headers Confirm valve lash. I had to pull the rockers off yesterday. Replace 123 with Unilite. My tin is modified already and I have no 123 experience. Install my spare Dell 45s and CSP. Planning to run it on the stand without tin and check for oil leads I may have induced with the pushrod swap. Feel free to advise. I want to save time by not doing anything twice. |

Do what you will but the 123 is pretty nice.

I need to stop reading posts hear. I'll never finish this project. I am the Dirk Wright of the New Millenium.
Engine came with aftermarket oil cooler. It obstructs the installation of the oil cooler tin. I took it off. Except I have a Tangerine Remote Oil Cooler Kit. Then I started reading this thread. Cooler Flaps.. So while it is on the stand I am going to install the remote takeoff can make my hoses. Going to run the 123 for now. Bench tested the Unilite and it may have a bad optical sensor. Any running a 123 with MSD or Permatune CDI? I'm turning off the computer now so I can get to work. |

good call running the 123. Its the best dizzy on the market right now, and IMO its WAY better then the old Unilite. I've run both, and greatly prefer the 123.
What is the remote oil cooler? Is it not using a sandwich adapter between the filter and the case? You should be able to mount it about anywhere. Zach |
