When you can't afford Bob Bondurant, there is always the Helen Keller school of high performance driving. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)
God bless them, they're on the Ring. I read it cost a fortune if you hit a guard rail |

Was this for drivers who have never driven a car before? Wow. That MG scared me. If he flipped he would die. The Ring is open to anyone with $20 in their pocket (unless there is an actual event). So yes, you get quite a few "Sonntagsfahrer" (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) |

I read it cost a fortune if you hit a guard rail Don't know what the current price is, but you pay per meter of guardrail damaged, plus a per-hour rate of lost revenue if they have to rebuild the wall during "open" hours (or even shut down temporarily to recover you). And they will not let you leave the race facility until you've made payments arrangements. A group of fellow racers went there a few years ago for a week of lapping and a VLN/RCN race weekend, and one of our guests managed to spin it into a guardrail...we had to rescue him from the Polizei with a hat full of Deutchmarks, even though we were staying at the Dorint Hotel right on site. He's still buying us beer whenever he sees us... |
