A friend gave me an ancient wheel to use as my spare. Currently it has a 165r15 Dunhill on it. The wheel is stamped 68 as well. Question to the community: is there a spare tire with near 24.9" diameter? Something like a 155/80R15 would match but I don't think they really seem to exist. Is there a way to find something like a space saver that would work on this? Anyone know a size that would work for me? The 185 is a bit big in the trunk too. Trying to use the free wheel.

Have you tried TireRack.com? They may have all the dimensions for their tires posted. If not, their technical support side is pretty good when you call them. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

I have one of those. I only use it to wash my windshield. I will check what is mounted on it. I believe it is 165-80-15

Simpletire.com Is in Philadelphia and gives a veteran discount so I buy from them when I can. I would just shop price. They sell no name tires.

Not totally sure but I believe the steel wheels have a different lug surface, the alloy wheels use a different lug, than the steel wheels. I believe that the compact spare tire used on the 944 has a rim that uses the same profile lug as the alloys.

Thanks for catching that, yeah 165, corrected the above.

I tried tire rack but did not find anything. Will keep digging.
