I'm getting tired of this ! The car is 90% perfect. I want to drive it ,use it or sell it...

Is this a 914?

If so you have a grounding issue with your brake light circuit.

This is a '75 914 . The engine is great , the car is cosmeticly 98%. I;m just going to take it to Kelly Moss in Madison then sell it!!!

Is this an immediate engine cut when stepping on the brake?

Check your fuses

Check your grounds

Check your taillight bulbs

Check the signal wire to your tach.

But yeah, you didn't really give a whole lot to go on here.

Just noticed that you have two other threads started about essentially what are different flavors of this same issue. It's helpful if you keep everything in one thread so everyone can see what has been happening, what has been suggested, and what has been checked. Otherwise it gets too confusing and repetitive.
