Hello,
attached is a link to a YouTube video about test drivers. The film dates back to around 1970. From about the 7:00-minute mark, it shows test drivers carrying out test drives for Porsche with the 914 and 911. It’s a really great and fascinating video that I didn’t want to keep to myself. Enjoy watching! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PZv0O-2OdmQ Benno (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smilie_flagge6.gif) |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5wmW5COZ0Z8 for me the bit at the end with the NSU RO80 was a real bonus. those things are beautiful. to look at and to drive. a mate of mine has one which i've driven a couple of times. its still got its original wankel enginer. a matching numbers NSU is real unicorn - especially since its a real early one before they sorted out the tip seals in the rotors. most of them got at least 3 new engines while still less than 3 years old. the spark plugs for NSU are genuinetly totally and absolutely unobtainium these days. a couple of europeans horde them. my mate has three sets which he religously rotates, has cleaned and guards with his life. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) 914s and NSUs were so far out in front on a lot of fronts back at the end of the 60s and start of the 70s. thanks for posting this @sechszylinder |

I don't speak German, but the cars racing at the beginning look like Mercury Capris to me??? thats because mercury capris are just rebadged ford capris. with degenerate headlights and collision bumpers added on. used to be stacks of those ford capris around when i was a kid. truly affordable and pretty fast. we had a version down here with the superoo decals and full go fast stripes paint job. cool as. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) ford europe had their (IMG:style_emoticons/default/stromberg.gif) together back then. the smaller escorts were even better i think than the bigger capris. total cult car these days and very few left around. |
