Anyone know a trick on how to remove the pulley from an alternator? Doing the Juice-heat-juice… but it ain’t working for me yet. Got the nut and washer off with a high speed impact but nothing is moving the pulley. TIA.

You’re probably going to have to get the pulley hotter. I’d use a gear puller and heat the center of the pulley with a torch. I’d start by soaking it for a couple days with Deep Creep.

By Juice do you mean WD40? If so try this. Heat then squirt with water. Several cycles of this will usually render a result. You want to cool it quickly and completely. Shock cooling helps with the expansion/contraction. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

Have used gear pullers before (2-jaw), even steering wheel pullers, whatever is available. To not damage the pulley, have even used a bearing separator/splitter in combination with a puller.
