I found a mystery spring on my shop floor and wondered (long shot) if it seems familiar to anyone. It's a working metal shop, so it could have come from some other tool or gizmo. It's a pretty robust spring about 1/2" x 3/16" - the kind that would be in the bore of a tool or on a trigger.
For reference, I got my engine back from the rebuilder as a long block and built up the rest of the FI bits, etc in the shop. Thanks for humoring me! Attached image(s)

Looks like the oil pressure regulator spring. I think. Haven't looked at mine in a while. Maybe it's too small for that. I recognize it from somewhere.... Shift linkage? Ignition switch?

Is there a spring in the rear clutch or shifter assembly? Those bits have been dangling and banged around for months. I've rebuilt the shifter lever assembly before, but nothing opened up this time. Spring looks too small for an oil press relief valve.

I may be wrong; thought I saw something like this ripping a T4 down.
Spring under distributer drive. I know there is a special thrust washer that usually stays in the block when you remove the dist and then falls out when you turn the engine over. There might be a spring as well to reduce distributor shaft play. Hopefully one to the engine builders can verify this |

The distributor spring is longer and smaller diameter wire and OD
...but I like the way you are thinking Following, as I do not recall this in any of my builds I may be wrong; thought I saw something like this ripping a T4 down. Spring under distributer drive.
